Trek-Segafredo and Notio announce aerodynamic partnership as pro bike racing returns

As the UCI WorldTour and UCI Women’s WorldTour get set to resume their 2020 race calendars, Notio – makers of the the world’s premiere personal aerodynamic sensor – and Trek-Segafredo - one of the dominant programs in pro cycling – announce a new partnership that will see Trek-Segafredo teams work with the Notio to refine aerodynamics in real-world race conditions.

With racing moving outdoors, Trek-Segafredo has already started working with the Notio to measure the Aerodynamic Drag of their riders, optimizing equipment, set-up and position so Trek-Segafredo athletes can find free speed. While several track and National Federation Teams have already raced using Notio to great success, this is the Company’s first official partnership with a UCI WorldTour team and one of several announcements expected from the Montreal-based aero sensor company this season.

“Our teams are more excited than ever to race and leverage tools like the Notio to help them win,” said Matt Shriver, technical director, Trek-Segafredo. “Applying an even greater level of aerodynamic data from Notio will give us another edge as we head into the Grand Tours and one-day races.”

“While many athletes chase speed with bikes and wheelsets, Notio-led research confirms that bikes account for only 20 percent of total resistance which can dramatically impact the speed of a rider,” added Edward Beechinor- Collins, president, Notio. “With the Notio, athletes can now find these gains while training in real-world racing conditions. We’re excited to partner with Trek-Segafredo, both to help them race and win and to work with their athletes to further refine the Notio experience.”
